The smell of earth waking

Life outside renews
But inside fills with haze

The cold had kept us still
And now comes restless pain

Longing for the winter
As the clouds roll in
Black foreboding front lines
Creep on the horizon

Wind begins the torrent
Snuffs the beacons out
Wandering in the dusk

The warmth will wake us up
But anxiety will remain

Singing songs of valor
As they tie ships down
Each man in stoic terror
Praying to the crown

Taste the salty air come smashing forth
Board the windows and withstand the storm
